Phew. Just ordered my mother’s Christmas present, overdrawing the old credit card, but I needed to be sure I got it.

I’ve already gotten one half of Crumpet’s present and will order the other half on pay day. Then I need to buy something for her sister as part of the Kris Kringle thing that her ridiculously large Catholic family do, and then I’m done.

Early. For once.

And thank Christ for that. A whole month of blathering, and not a useful word contained therein.

I’m starting to think that I can’t fail at this NaBloPoMo thing. I certainly haven’t had any insanely close misses like Crumpet!

On October 21st, my phone warned me (via SMS) that my pre-paid credit was about to expire. I logged into the website that the SMS suggested and topped up with $15 of credit - enough to last me 6 months given how rarely I use my phone.

I tried to use the phone last night - no credit. I called Optus today and the ‘customer support’ guy told me the credit I purchased only lasted 14 days.

That’s useless to me, I told him. The website said nothing whatsoever about any limitations of this kind.

‘Look again, hahaha, I think you’ll find it does,’ he says.

So I did. Just now. And it fucking doesn’t.

The end result? Optus just ripped me off $15 and won’t do anything about it.

Goodbye Optus, you’ve just lost my business (small as it was).

edit: After a complaint on their website, they’ve credited me the $15 and given me 6 months to use it, as I expected. Cheers, Optus. Now fix your site.

Crumpet’s project is done, I can relax and try to get some proper sleep. Unlike last night, where I had strange dreams in which I had to impersonate a zombie to avoid being killed by other zombies or a post-apocalyptic gang. Also, I had bad dreams about a zombie Henry. All in all, not restful.
