A simple question

Published by Paul under General

What superpower would you like, given your choice? Answer in the comments, and no cheaty-type ‘a power that gives me EVERY power’ answers.

Personally, I’d go for flying.

Eternal Sonata

Published by Paul under Gaming

I’m very impressed by the demo of Eternal Sonata on the US PSN store (ya boo sucks to you if you’re too lazy to create a US account).

It feels like a more strategic version of Final Fantasy 7, with location tactics in battles (your characters and enemies have different abilities depending on whether they’re standing in light or shadow) and avoidable enemies when you’re not in combat. Also, it looks just a wee bit stunning.

It’s coming at the end of the month for the PS3 (and is already out for the 360). I will be flat out with LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3, so I’ll pick it up as a Christmas present to myself.

Sweeney Todd

Published by Paul under Film

Watched Sweeney Todd last night. Crumpet was very down on it when she saw it at the cinema, but I thought I’d give it a chance, and bugger me if I didn’t really enjoy it.

Crumpet said it was predictable and she didn’t like the songs… I personally was relishing the story, even though I could guess what was coming. It’s a musical, for crap’s sake, not War and Peace. And I liked several of the songs quite a lot, actually.

Oh, and the excess of blood made me giggle. Overall, I think it’s the most assured live-action film Tim Burton’s made so far. Excellent-looking Blu-ray, too.
