Well, it’s certainly better than having cancer (you idiot), but I’m not in love with it. Not at all.
You can keep your head on though, because ‘Cheat Death’ is a nice song – its unfortunately overrun (for me) by too much delay/chorus/reverb/whatever. I would have liked it more if they’d stuck with the Guitar, Vocals, Tambourine and Rhodes (without too much sustain). More closeness, less ‘verb.
If I’d paid $20 for an entire album of this at JB I’d be pissed, but after spending a few bucks for an EP I’m not really upset; there’s some nice things going on, but not enough to win me over.
