Today I went to the optometrist with Crumpet. My lenses are scratched to buggery, and we both think I should have sunglasses with the amount of driving I’m doing.
Crumpet was my arbiter of taste, as I think I look fairly ridiculous in any pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately, the ones she liked the best cost over $300 (not including the hefty cost of the prescription lenses) so we settled on a cheaper pair that still seemed to suit and had a decent build quality. I should have them in a couple of weeks.
I will also have replacement lenses for my old frames on Monday (or Tuesday if I can’t make it in). Apparently my right eye has gotten slightly better, but the astigmatism (meaning that my eye isn’t perfectly round) in my left eye has worsened a little. The optometrist told me that you can now get disposable contact lenses for eyes with astigmatisms, which wasn’t possible eight years ago – the last time I wore contacts. He said they’re generally a lot easier to live with, but I think I’ll still skip them and go straight to laser surgery in a couple of years. It will be very strange not seeing a border around the world; I’ve been wearing specs for 20 years now.
Are they L series lenses you’re getting? Do the frames have a red ring around them?
P.S. I don’t get the blog title.
You’re a silly person.
Regarding the PS, you must have missed the link in the post..
