It’s been 17 months of daily use for my trusty little iPod, and today it just seemed to say ‘enough is enough’ – I can hear the tiny hard drive inside clunking occasionally. I bet it’s a bloody Hitachi drive – my laptop drive died in exactly the same way. I’ve reformatted the iPod and it seems to be working again now, but I know it’s just a matter of time before the drive dies completely. Luckily Christmas is coming up, and those 30Gb iPods with video capability are looking very tempting!
