Okay, the link’s been sent to me twice, so obviously it’s popular. Here it is.

Watch and shudder.

Yum!

jellybelly.jpgLook what Crumpet got me to make up for her flying off to Wadeye yet again! She also bought me Sigur Rós’s Takk… album, but I’d already ordered it online, heh.

Yes, I do need to put coins into it to get the beans out. Hopefully it needs enough coins to pay for another packet of Jelly Bellys. :)

Cool

I saw the link to this site over on AppleTalk. It’s a rather cunning implementation of OS X running in Flash. It needs a pretty recent version of Flash to work correctly, so if you’re missing dock icons or the like, head over to the Macromedia site for Flash 8.

Corpse Bride

Published by Paul under Film, Macs

Something I noticed on one of my RSS feeds was that Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride is the first stopmotion film to be shot digitally. The entire thing was done with Canon’s EOS 1D cameras and edited in Final Cut Pro. It really won’t be long before you can do something of this exact quality with consumer gear (Final Cut Studio is under $2k and the EOS 350D, although far short of the 1D’s 16.7 megapixels, is around $1300 on the street). I’m hoping that this film will be right up there with Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit movie, which was technically excellent and a lot of fun to watch.

Peh

Published by Paul under General

I just called the place I interviewed at last week… again. I didn’t get the position. Nice of them to call me to let me know.

They talked about doing something on a part-time basis, I think I’d rather eat my own head. Back to the drawing board.
