Dammit
I called the recruitment agency today to find that the job I was told about no longer exists. I’m starting to get a tad despondent here. The guy at the supermarket must have seen a look in my eye, cos he gave me a discount coupon for liquor.
Lucky I’m not in the US, or he might have given me $50 off a handgun!

Keyword here is persistance.
This time of the year is when you start to get a lot of school leavers coming into the workforce because they give up and don’t go through with exams etc.
So in essence, a non experienced bunch of school leavers compared to your experience and knowledge actually makes you look very good when it comes to prospective employers options.
Any interviews will show you had a very positive experience with your last job. It was just unfortunate timing with the sale. Certainly you can atleast expect excellent referals from your previous employers/supervisors.
When things went not too well with my plans a few years back, and i was shafted, i took the first thing that came my way.
Damn it was crap, and Salmat was definately a bad experience, which i don’t wish upon anyone. But on my way home from work i came accross an old friend, who gave me a referal for a role. That lead to Connect, Connect lead me to Alphalink.
So.. for now, i’m working and while it can get a tad mundane from time to time, work is what you make of it.
So the bottom line is you keep looking, take “something” and be on the lookout for anything better that comes along. It’s too easy to lose yourself and become complacent with what you have. It’s fine to want more, but you have to let people out there know who you are first.
So keep trying, and if your not sending out 10 resumes a day (it doesn’t matter for what really) then your letting yourself down.
Job ads don’t always carry a true perspective on what the role entails, and any interview could open the door to a different offer. Or at worst, they have a different position coming up, but your there too soon for it, and may be offered a role that’s only temporary with view to …
fuckit, you get what i’m saying..
nuff said i guess.

keep yr eyes and ears open, and keep on keepin’ on.
