Buy cheap, buy twice
See the title of this post? This is what I tell people constantly when they ask my advice on buying stuff. So, when shopping for some allan keys to adjust my bass, why did I not practice what I preach?
I bought a garbage, piece of shit $1.95 set of imperial keys, took them home and selected the right one for the bridge of the StingRay. I started loosening the bolt. *SNAP* … The key snaps in half and one half stays in the bolt, the other flies across the room and lands near one of my speakers. My really expensive speakers.
I’ll be heading back this afternoon to return the shitty allan keys and buy a decent set, which I should have done in the first place.

make sure you get yr $1.95 back….
That’ll learn ya.
You’d think that some allen keys for a fairly straight forward job wouldn’t need to be of any superior quality.
It was weird, when I opened the pack it was like the ’steel’ was sweating. Whatever it’s made of, it’s horrible quality and I’ll suggest that they don’t stock that type anymore.
dig karma
Better keys purchased. Eight times the price.
